If you have opted for Family 699 or Family 999 or Family 1299 plan, your family (add-on) members get Unlimited Local, STD and National roaming calls, 40GB data with 200GB rollover and VIP access to our Vi Movies & TV app.
If you have opted for REDX Family 1699 or REDX Family 2299 plan, your family (add-on) members will be able to enjoy Unlimited Data, Unlimited Local, STD and National roaming calls and VIP access to our Vi Movies & TV app.
How many members can I add to my Family plan?

Benefits like 1 year subscriptions to Amazon Prime and Disney+ Hotstar are applicable on your mobile number. VIP Access to our Vi Movies & TV app is applicable to all members, including you. Vi Movies & TV gives you access to the latest Bollywood & International Blockbusters, Originals, News, Live Sports, Live TV and more from Voot Select, Lionsgate Play, Sun NXT, Hungama Play, Shemaroome, Aaj Tak, NDTV, Sun News and many more – all curated in one place.
How do I activate a Vi Family plan?
You can activate a Family plan in two simple steps:
- Choose a Family plan that best suits you. We offer Family plans for upto 5 members, which includes you.
- Add numbers which you want to include in your Family plan. You can choose to add other Vi Postpaid users, Vi Prepaid users and non-Vi users as well.
For any non-Vi and Vi-prepaid numbers that you add, we offer easy contactless delivery of Vi postpaid SIMs. Once activated on Vi Postpaid, all numbers will be seamlessly added to your Vi Family plan.
Any existing Vi postpaid subscribers that you add to your plan will be required to give a consent via SMS within 7 days to be added to your plan. For such subscribers, we do not require any additional documentation.
Alternatively, you can also visit a Vi store near you to activate a Family plan.
I am not a Vi postpaid user. Can I opt for a Family plan for myself and others in my Family?
Of course! To activate a Family plan, all numbers including your own will need to be activated on Vi postpaid first. You just need to follow this simple 2 step process to submit your request on https://www.myvi.in/new-connection/buy-postpaid-sim-connection-online and leave the rest to us!
- Choose a Family plan for 2 to 5 members, including yourself
- Add numbers which you want to include in your Family plan
For non-Vi and Vi-prepaid numbers, we offer easy contactless delivery of Vi postpaid SIMs. Once activated on Vi Postpaid, all numbers will be seamlessly added to your Vi Family plan.
Any existing Vi postpaid subscribers that you add to your plan will receive a request to join your plan via SMS. You need to ensure that they provide their consent within 7 days. For such subscribers, we do not require any additional documentation.

Do I need to pay any additional charges to activate a VI Family plan?
In case you are activating a new number as Primary member for the Family plan, you will need to pay the standard activation fees and security deposit to activate that number on Vi postpaid. There are no additional charges to activate add-on members within your Family plan.
I have a corporate plan from my organisation. Can I activate or join a Vi Family plan?
Yes. We do offer Family plans for our corporate customers as well. To activate the same, please visit a Vi store near you.
Can I add prepaid and non-Vi numbers to my Family plan?
Yes, you can choose your plan and add any number to your Family plan by visiting https://www.myvi.in/new-connection/buy-postpaid-sim-connection-online. For non-Vi and Vi-prepaid numbers, we offer easy contactless delivery of Vi postpaid SIMs. Once activated on Vi Postpaid, all such numbers will be seamlessly added to your Vi Family plan.
My family’s postpaid mobile numbers are registered in different names and addresses. Can I add them to my Family plan?
For adding existing Vi postpaid numbers, we will need only SMS consent from the member, even if they are under different names & registered addresses in the same state.
However, if your family member is in a different state, you would have to port-in that number through Inter State MNP process to your circle. To do so, you can chose a Family plan and place an MNP request for that number from our website www.myvi.in or visit a Vi store near you.
How long will it take for my group to be formed after I submit my request?
In case of existing Vi postpaid users, we will take up to 4 hours to add your members to your plan, post receipt of their SMS consent. Any members being activated newly on Vi postpaid will get added instantaneously to your Family plan upon activation. Both you and your secondary members will be informed via SMS.
How do I add or remove members?
Once you have formed your Vi Family plan, adding or removing members is super simple. Just call 199 or visit a store to add or remove a member.
How will the usage charges of my members/devices appear in my bill?
A detailed member-wise break-up of charges will be available in your bill. You will also be able to view the Vi Family rental discount benefits applicable in each member’s detailed bill.
Will my family members receive separate bills for their own usage?
No. As Primary member, you will receive a single bill in your name for all numbers once they are added to or activated within your Family plan.
I added a member to my Family plan but they have still gotten a separate bill this month. Why?
If the member was already existing on Vi postpaid, they would have received a pro-rata individual bill for their number for the time already elapsed in that bill cycle. We advise that all such previous outstanding be cleared by you or your members prior to their addition to your Family plan.
What happens to the billing cycle of any existing Vi postpaid users who I add to my family plan?
Their bill for all usage after joining the group will be merged with yours, the due date for which will continue to be as per your original bill cycle. However, there may be a separate pro-rated bill due for the member added by you for the period prior to their joining your Family plan. They will need to clear this outstanding amount using their relationship ID or account number.
Can a Family member change their plan or buy any add-on packs without my knowledge?
No, only you can buy data or SMS packs for members/ devices in your group. Your members can only activate some services like International Roaming and VAS on their plans.
Can my members request for plan change without my knowledge?
No, your secondary members cannot request for plan change. Only you can do so for all members/ devices in your account.
